Weymouth is the destination of choice for two Steam Train services operated by The Railway Touring Company throughout the 2011 Summer Holidays.
On Sundays from 17th July until 11th September, 'The Weymouth Seaside Express' is scheduled to visit the resort bringing visitors on a traditional day trip to the south coast.
Departing from Bristol Temple Meads station, travelling on the picturesque 'Heart of Wessex Line' and collecting passengers from Keynsham, Bath, Trowbridge, Westbury and Frome before arriving in Weymouth Station around 1.10pm. Passengers on this trip have over four hours in Weymouth, allowing plenty of time to take a look around the variety of shops and enjoy something to eat and drink, whilst sampling the fresh sea air and views of the Jurassic Coast.
Steam Locomotives used on this trip include No. 4936 Kinlet Hall, No. 5029 Nunney Castle, and No. 70000 Britannia.
Every Tuesday from 5th July until 13th September will see 'The Dorset Coast Express' make it's trip from London Victoria Station to Weymouth Station.
Stopping for passengers at Staines, Woking, Basingstoke, Bournemouth and Wareham before arriving in Weymouth around 1.25pm. Passengers have over three hours to visit the seaside, and grab something to eat and drink, with the station being close to shops and restaurants.
